Returns & Exchanges

Standard pieces: 14 days to change your mind

You may withdraw from the purchase of a standard piece within 14 days of the day you receive it, without giving a reason. A standard piece is a jacket from the collection in its own leather and colour and in a standard size.

  1. Write to info@emiliomoretti.com with your order number within those 14 days.
  2. We send you a DHL Express return label, insured and signed for on arrival, usually the same working day. We tell you its cost before we send it.
  3. Send the piece back with that label within 14 days of telling us. Please do not send a return without it. If you choose to send it another way, use a tracked and insured service: the piece remains your responsibility until it reaches us.

The cost of the return label is yours: we deduct it from your refund. We refund the purchase price, minus the cost of the return label, to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your notice. We may wait with the refund until the piece has reached us, or until you have shown us that you sent it.

How a return must come back

Please send the piece back undamaged, unworn beyond trying it on as you would in a shop, with all tags attached, in its original packaging and packed so that it cannot be damaged in transit. If a piece comes back worn, marked, damaged or without its tags, we may deduct the loss in value from the refund. Trying a piece on as you would in a shop never leads to a deduction.

Damaged on arrival or faulty

Please check the parcel and the piece as soon as they arrive. If the packaging is damaged or the piece has a fault, write to info@emiliomoretti.com as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, and send us:

  • your order number;
  • clear photographs of the damage or fault, of the whole piece, and of the packaging and shipping label;
  • a short description of what you found.

Please do not wear or alter the piece in the meantime, and keep the original packaging until we have dealt with it. We then repair, replace or refund the piece at our cost, as the law provides. A later report is still valid: reporting a fault within two months of discovering it is always on time, and your statutory rights for faulty goods (at least two years in the European Union, and under Dutch law for as long as you may reasonably expect a jacket of this quality to last) are not affected by anything on this page. This applies to every piece, made for you or not.

Made for you: no returns

Some pieces are made for one customer only: a jacket cut to your own measurements (made to measure), and a jacket made to the choices you make in the atelier, such as a house colour, a different leather or a back motif. These pieces are made to your specifications, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to them (Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code). Once the atelier has begun cutting, they cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged.

The site tells you this before you order and asks you to confirm it, on the product page or in the atelier and again in your bag, for those pieces only. Your confirmation is recorded with the order. Standard pieces in the same order keep the normal 14-day right of withdrawal.

What we promise instead: before cutting, the atelier reviews your measurements and writes to you if anything looks unusual. If a made-to-measure piece does not fit as it should, we alter it once, free of charge; the shipping both ways is at your cost. If a piece made for you is faulty, the section above applies in full. And like every Moretti, it is repaired for life.

Exchanges

Wrong size on a standard piece? Write to us within 14 days of delivery. We cut the correct size and send it to you once the first piece is back with us. The shipping costs of an exchange are yours, both ways: the DHL Express return label for the first piece and the shipping of the new size.

The right of withdrawal: formal version

To withdraw from the purchase of a standard piece, inform us within 14 days of receiving it by an unambiguous statement, for example an e-mail to info@emiliomoretti.com. It is enough to send your notice before the 14 days have passed. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to.
